Dietary Supplements may support immune function BACK

Ginger Root

Ginger's long list of curative powers rival its infinite culinary uses. In ancient China, ginger was regarded as a healing gift from God and was commonly used to cleanse and warm the body.  Ginger is a component in many traditional Chinese herbal remedies and may strengthen immune system.  How to Prepare:  Chopped Ginger Root can be made into a tea. Pour boiling water over 0.5 to 1 gram (about one-quarter teaspoonful) of the chopped root, steep for 5 minutes, and strain.  Ginger is also available in tablet, capsule, and liquid form.  For immune support take 1-3 grams daily.  Massive doses of Ginger can depress the nervous system and cause heart irregularities.

Immunolin

Immunolin is a highly concentrated protein fraction derived from spray dried bovine plasma  - cow blood is collected at the slaughterhouse, filtered & plasma removed, then dried to a powder.  Immunolin contains immunoglobulins IgA, IgG and IgM.  The basic functions of immunoglobulins are the neutralization and opsonization ("makes it easier for a white blood cell, for example, to engulf and absorb a virus") of bacteria, viruses, and other environmental pathogens.  Immunolin may strengthen your immune system.  Search the internet for studies documenting the use of oral immunoglobulin for immune support.  Considering the low and rare side effects of taking immunolin, it's probably worth using if a deadly virus is headed your way.

As a dietary supplement, take two (2) tablets (about 1000 mg.) twice/daily, in AM and PM, for on-going immune support.  Take immunolin three times / daily if temperature is over 100°.  If you have known sensitivities or allergies to milk, this may decrease the effectiveness.  Keep out of reach of children. Store in a cool, dry place with lid tightly closed.  Immunolin can be purchased in most health food stores.

Vitamin C

People who take daily doses of Vitamin C may boost their immune system, potentially protecting themselves from viruses.  Vitamin C - 1000 mg twice daily for reducing risk of a viral infection, 1000 mg four times/day  when sick.
